Becoming a Cotillionette
The process of becoming a Cotillionette begins with the completion of the Cotillionette Profile form and submission to the Los Angeles Cotillion Chairperson. Each Cotillionette must be sponsored by a member of the Los Angeles (CA) Chapter of Links and must be a senior in high school during the fall of 2024. The season begins with the Parent Information Meeting (time=TBD).
Each family will receive a Cotillion Handbook. The handbook provides information and guidance useful during the Cotillion season. During normal circumstances, each Cotillionette is required to donate a minimum of 75 hours of volunteer service to a community service agency or cause. Additionally, Cotillionettes participate in a variety of activities planned by the Leadership Institute.
Most of these activities are held during the summer months and may include the following activities:
- Essay writing/Interviewing skills
- International Empowerment Summit
- Cultural Awareness Activities such as theatrical performances
- Self-Esteem Workshops
- Health and Fitness Education
- Entrepreneur Workshop
- Virtual HBCU Tours
- Public Speaking and Global Exposure Workshop
- Legal Savvy Workshops
- Social Bonding Activities
