Book Club at 54th Street Elementary School

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Links, Inc. embarked on a partnership with 54th Street Elementary School this fall with an after-school Book Club. Over 150 students in the 3rd-5th grades received Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis to read before the Christmas holiday. Students met Wednesday afternoons to fine tune their literacy skills through small group discussions and character analysis activities. Link members graciously lent their time and provided snacks and refreshments for students to enjoy while they worked.
